Gift Aid is a government scheme which enables Daisy’s Eye Cancer Fund to maximise donations by claiming basic rate income tax as a charitable donation.  In effect, we are getting something for nothing.

The Gift Aid scheme is a simple way of enabling registered charities to increase donations from tax payers by just over a quarter - 28p for every £1 donated - without costing the donor a penny more than their original donation.

Anyone who pays UK tax can make a donation through the Gift Aid scheme.  If you are eligible, please Gift Aid your donation

How It Works

Any size of donation from a UK tax payer qualifies for Gift Aid.  However, you must pay tax for that financial year equal to or greater than the amount being reclaimed on your donation.

For example, if you set up a monthly Direct Debit of £15, your total annual donation for one year would be £180.  If you Gift Aid your donation, Daisy’s Eye Cancer Fund would be able to reclaim £50.40 from the taxman.

For your entire donation to be eligible for Gift Aid, you must pay at least £50.40 in tax across the same year.

Higher Rate Tax Payers.

Higher rate tax payers are able to reclaim the tax from charitable donations made during the previous and current tax years.  All you need to do is include the details of each charitable gift on your tax return form.
