World Retinoblastoma Book

An awareness-raising project, "In The Eyes Of Angels" is an anthology of personal stories and poetry, from families across six continents, whose lives have been changed by the diagnosis of retinoblastoma.

Due to the rare nature of retinoblastoma, it is often difficult for families of diagnosed children to access information or connect with other families, and to share their experiences.

Families experience a whole range of different challenges in their battle with retinoblastoma, Retinoblastoma occurs globally, and many of these trials are exacerbated by extreme poverty in the developing world.

For example, more than 96% of children will be successfully treated in countries such as the UK, USA and Canada, but more than 80% of affected children around the world will die.

We are developing a project which aims to create a greater understanding and awareness of how retinoblastoma affects families around the globe.

"In the Eyes of Angels" will raise awareness of retinoblastoma, highlight some of the issues faced by affected families, and emphasise the international disparities which exist in access to, and quality of care.
